(Explorations with my friend Rosalyn)
Winter greetings from Wisconsin!
It finally felt like winter last weekend. The trees were covered with beautiful snow, it was quiet, and everything was still. I had a fun weekend relaxing with great friends for a winter retreat at a cozy cabin in the woods. We played games, laughed, read, sung songs, and made goals for the upcoming year. It was a great time to be still and look back on this past year. So many wonderful things happend, but I often focus on what "isn't going right." So, it was nice to look back and even make new goals for the year.
I felt so at peace as I looked out of the window on Sunday morning to see small drops of snow fall to the ground, as we were praising God with songs, sharing about what we read in our quiet times, and what we seen God do in this past year- it was blissful & stunning to see the beauty of nature all around me and feel the encouragement of my friends.
I definitely got a lot out of the weekend and got to regroup my thoughts about what I want to see happen in this next year. It was so nice to explore, take photos, and just be still. I hope this next year involves even more adventures, new sights, new dreams & new friendships.
I read this the other day, "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms." -1 Peter 4:10
What gifts can you use to serve others? : )
Have a wonderful Christmas season!
