Hey everyone! How's it going?
I've been in a super music mood lately. I'm pretty sure I love music more than anything, well not more than cats, or clothes, or a giant cheesy pizza, but I do love music quite a lot. I've been streaming these four albums lately.
Daft Punk's latest album, Random Access Memories, is probably my favorite album I've heard this summer. I instantly was hooked to the electronic melodies and the groovy feel. When I first bought it, I just had to go for a drive, so I could listen to the whole thing, with the windows down and the bass bumpin'. My favorite songs on the album are: Give Life Back to Music, The Game of Love, Instant Crush, Lose Yourself to Dance, Get Lucky, Doin' It Right--basically all of them! I recommend you pop this baby in and dance like you're at a disco. : )
Kishi Bashi's album, 151a is so amazing. It's the perfect summery album with a very upbeat vibe. It kind of reminds me of the band Animal Collective actually. It's the perfect album to ride your bike around town to on a sunny day. My favorite songs on the album are: It All Began With a Burst, Wonder Woman, Wonder Me, and I Am The Antichrist to You. Go check them out and also the EP, Room for Dream.
Now, I have a soft spot in my heart for S. Carey. For one, he's an amazing musician and incredibly talented, but also, he's a member of the band, Bon Iver, which is my all time favorite. Anyway, this EP is completely perfect. I just came across one of his songs on Spotify, I believe, and instantly started listening to the album on repeat for days. It's soft, quiet, melodic, and full of great lyrics. I was doing a lot of driving these past couple months, so it's the perfect music to listen to while passing through pastures, trees, and winding roads into sunsets. The song, Avalanche, is my favorite on that album. Seriously, listen to it right now!
Last but not least, Sea of Bees, this band consists of a fancy lady named Jules from Sacramento. She's beyond lovely and extremely talented. I only started listening to her this month, and she's absolutely perfect. The album is super summery, folky, and has good lyrics. Willis is probably my favorite song as of late.
There you have it! If you have any good music recommendations, feel free to share. I hope you have an awesome week full of good music, laughs, and smiles.
